On February 6, the Capital Pride Alliance (CPA) will host its annual “Reveal” event from 7-11 pm, at City Winery to announce the theme campaign for Capital Pride 2020. Tickets are available on the Capital Pride website. In addition, 2020 marks the 45th annual celebration of Pride in the Nation’s Capital.
“With this event, we kick off another important and historic year for the country, the LGBTQ+ community and for Capital Pride,” said Ryan Bos, Executive Director of the Capital Pride Alliance (CPA). “We are excited to launch a theme campaign to reflect our values to celebrate, support, educate, and inspire. We must also strive to mobilize and empower our community to be active and engaged in our neighborhoods, cities, states, country and around the world as we continue our fight for full equality and respect,” continued Bos.
“We encourage the community to join and participate in the diverse Pride events offered in the Nation’s Capital, as we await a historic decision by the Supreme Court impacting millions of LGBTQ+ people and approach a critical election this coming November,” said Ashley Smith, President of the Board of Directors of the CPA.
The Capital Pride Alliance is excited to collaborate with the following organizations to provide the many events and activities that will be part of Pride 2020 in the Nation’s Capital.
The organizations and events that are part of this new effort include:
API Pride, Friday, May 29 & Saturday May 30 – Produced by the Capital Pride Alliance, in collaboration with Asian and Pacific Islander Queers United for Action (AQUA D.C.), Asian Pacific Islander Queer Society (APIQS), KhushDC, and Korean Queer & Transgender Association of DC (KQTDC).
The Capital Pride Alliance, located in Washington, DC, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the LGBTQ+ community and its partners through educational events, entertainment, community outreach, and celebrations of diversity throughout the year. Capital Pride produces each year Trans Pride and the Pride Celebration in the Nation’s Capital, one of the largest Pride events in the country, which includes the Pride Parade, Festival, and Concert, plus a variety of educational and community events throughout the year.
