The Entertainment Capital of the World welcomes LGBT visitors to special events throughout the year
Las Vegas bolsters its reputation as the premier LGBT travel destination with a variety of thrilling special events, conferences, parties and more throughout the year. Recently awarded destination of the year by GayTravel.com, Las Vegas is extremely welcoming of the LGBT community, offering every visitor an experience they won’t soon forget.
Members of the Las Vegas LGBT community will join forces for the 27th annual AIDS Walk at Town Square Las Vegas, April 23. Grand marshals Penn & Teller, of the famed namesake show at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, will lead walkers through the morning events on behalf of Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), which will culminate in fun-filled after-walk activities for everyone. Leading up to the walk, AFAN will also host a charity alternative rock concert, “Beatles Vs. Stones,” on March 29 at the House of Blues Las Vegas inside Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
Vegas’ ultimate transgender party, Viva WildSide’s 11th annual Sin City Soiree, takes over Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino from May 15-21. Attendees from around the world gather to celebrate friendship and indulge in glitz and glam during the week-long party.
The destination’s longest running LGBT pool party, Temptation Sundays at Luxor Hotel & Casino, returns for its eighth fabulous season. This sexy poolside party takes place every Sunday from May 14 – Sept. 24 and features amazing DJs spinning the summer’s hottest soundtracks, specialty drinks and nonstop fun in the sun.
Matinée Las Vegas Festival, the biggest gay dance festival of the summer, will electrify Hard Rock Casino and Hotel, May 26-29. Festivalgoers will dance the days away during eight parties, featuring more than 20 DJs.
Returning for another exciting year, Bigger Vegas features all-inclusive social events for larger gay men, their admirers and other communities, July 4-10. Attendees will mix and mingle during numerous pool parties with the opportunity to enjoy grill-outs, DJ sets, excursions to explore the Strip, Downtown Las Vegas and much more.
Beyond the non-stop action available in the “Entertainment Capital of the World,” Las Vegas is also a professional place to conduct business. Those looking to start a business, build their network and work with more LGBT-owned businesses will find extensive opportunities at the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) International Business & Leadership Conference taking place at Caesars Palace, Aug. 1-4. The NGLCC welcomes more than a thousand entrepreneurs, chamber leaders, government officials and corporate executives from around the world to discuss leadership and provide networking and engagement opportunities for business leaders.
Las Vegas is the place to be over Labor Day weekend, with a variety of fantastic events to fill the three-day holiday. In its 35th year, Convergence, Aug. 30 – Sept. 4, brings together men and community members of varying interests for parties, events socializing and more. This year, the event comes to Las Vegas for the first time and will be hosted at Luxor Las Vegas. The second event, the Las Vegas Showgirl Invitational Bowling Tournament, includes team competition, as well as singles and doubles tournaments all weekend at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, Sept. 1–3.
Las Vegas PRIDE takes place Oct. 20-22 with a lineup of events that celebrate the diversity within the Las Vegas LGBT community. Events include the annual PRIDE Parade, Oct. 20, in fabulous Downtown Las Vegas as well as the PRIDE Festival, Oct. 21-22. Members of the Las Vegas LGBT community and straight allies can celebrate the annual festivities while enjoying an exciting weekend of events and entertainment.
In addition to the multitude of events taking place throughout the destination, Las Vegas boasts incredible entertainers throughout the year. Multiple GRAMMY Award-winning artist Ricky Martin will begin his Las Vegas headlining residency at the new Park Theater at Monte Carlo on April 5. Cher, the award-winning Goddess of Pop, debuted her residency, CLASSIC CHER, at the Park Theater in February and will return in May. Other alluring entertainers include Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez, both performing their headlining shows in The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and many others.
