Whistler Pride 2018 Was Over The Top With LGBTQ Influencers In The Mix

This year, we had the opportunity to be a part of Whistler Pride 2018 (#WhistlerPride2018), produced by Dean Nelson and the folks at Tourism Whistler, with a wide variety of incredible partners along the way.

Before the event even started, we put together a mini-LGBTQΒ Influencer and New Media Conference… Matt Skallerud of Pink Banana Media presented on some of the latest in LGBTQ Digital Marketing in 2018, including some updates on theΒ #ILoveGay network.Β  We then launched into a panel with some of the LGBTQ influencers Tourism Whistler was hosting for this event, including the Nomadic Boys, Kit Williamson and John Halbach of Eastsiders TV, the Couple of Men,Β  and Vancouver new media socialites Josh Rimer and Barb Snelgrove.

That night, we were thrilled to have Margaret Cho perform live!

The next day the events of Whistler Pride 2018 began, including some amazing snowmobiling across the Whistler-Blackcomb mountain, while stopping for some of their breathtaking views!Β  A special thanks to the folks at The Adventure Group for putting this and our zip lining excursion together.

 

That evening, we enjoyed a wonderful reception at the Audain Art Museum, sponsored by Grant Minish’s team from TD Bank.Β  Between here and the conference we were also thrilled to spend such quality time with Angus Praught and his team from Outlook TV, where they followed the events and the influencers along for the entire weekend, doing interviews and capturing some incredible footage.

 

After the art museum reception, the boys all headed out to the infamous SPLASH pool party!

 

 

Friday night’s main event was the #Furrocious Bear Party!

On Saturday, the main events were underway, including the #SNOMOSEXUAL Pride Parade starting at the top of the mountain and working its way down the slopes and into the town of Whistler itself. But first, we needed to get in a little zip lining along the way!

That evening, the main dance party event, Snowball 26, kicked in at the Whistler Convention Center.Β  What a great finale for what was an over-the-top Whistler Pride 2018 weekend.
