Every so often a new travel brand comes along that gets the assignment — not just where to go, but how it should feel to get there as an LGBTQ+ traveler. That’s the promise behind Pontiris, a new LGBTQ+ travel house opening later this year, and we wanted to introduce it to the community early. Its tagline says a lot in four words: Travel that knows the way.
A Travel House, Not a Booking Site
Pontiris is the work of a travel veteran with twenty years in the business and more than sixty countries behind him. The idea is refreshingly old-school in the best way: the best trips are planned by someone who actually knows the way. No concierge reading from a template, no dozen browser tabs, no generic itinerary with a rainbow sticker slapped on top. Every journey is hand-planned and shaped around the traveler — with LGBTQ+ insight woven through the trip rather than stamped on it.
The name itself carries the idea. Pont — the bridge — becomes the horizon. As Richard puts it, the knowing is the work, and the journey is yours. It’s less about checking sights off a list and more about the timing, the right neighborhood, the quiet door, and which places open warmly.

Three Promises
Pontiris frames its approach around three simple commitments, and each one speaks directly to what LGBTQ+ travelers actually want:
- Hand-planned, never a script. Every trip is shaped around you by someone who has spent two decades learning what makes a journey worth taking.
- The journey, not the dozen tabs. Richard handles the timing, the bookings, and the logistics that wear people out — so you arrive with nothing to manage and everything to look forward to.
- The welcome, woven in. Twenty years of knowing which doors open warmly, built quietly into the whole trip. As Richard writes, “legal and cold are not the same as warm” — and knowing that difference is the part you can’t Google.
Field Notes Worth the Trip
Even before opening, Pontiris is publishing “Field Notes” — short, evocative essays that double as a preview of its sensibility. There’s a slow guide to Seville and its Alcázar at dawn, a sunlit guide to Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica and the sunset over Banderas Bay, and a gentle love letter to Chania on Crete. One note, “a slow hour in San Miguel,” makes the whole Pontiris philosophy plain: the trips you remember aren’t built around the famous hour, but around the one nobody scheduled.
There’s also a piece written for a specific reader we hear from often — the cautious traveler. “Three questions before your first trip back” is aimed at anyone who stopped traveling and has been waiting for it to feel possible again. That kind of care, aimed at real people rather than a demographic, is exactly the tone the LGBTQ+ travel space needs more of.
The Horizon List
Pontiris opens later in 2026, and it’s building a small first group called the Horizon List — an early-access community that gets the first word when the doors open and the first trips take shape. There’s a fun incentive attached, too: one name drawn from everyone who joins before the end of August will have their next journey hand-planned by Richard, start to finish, shaped around the trip they’re dreaming of.
The Horizon List closes August 31, 2026, with the winner drawn in early September. You can add your name at pontiris.com, and you’ll find Pontiris on Instagram and Facebook as @pontiristravel.

Why We’re Watching This One
New LGBTQ+ travel brands arrive all the time, but the ones that last understand something Pontiris seems to get instinctively: authentic welcome can’t be bolted on at checkout. It has to be built into the journey — the route, the stays, the timing, the doors that were already open before you arrived. In a moment when plenty of companies are quietly dialing back their support for our community, it’s genuinely refreshing to see a brand launch with the welcome front and center, 24/7, 365, from day one.
We’ll be following Pontiris as it opens — and if you’re dreaming of a trip that finally feels shaped around you, this is a name worth knowing early.
Authentic LGBTQ+ engagement, 24/7, 365 days a year — that’s what Pink Media: A Company With Influence is built for. Want to introduce your LGBTQ+ brand or destination to the community? Reach us anytime at PinkMedia.LGBT.
